Bhaskar Pandit, Mob : 0091 – 9818314887, Swadeshi Journeys Pvt. I definitely support seeing Orchha and Khajuraho. They are amazing places that I am so glad we had the chance to see. We went in June, and did the following route, similar to yours but without Rajasthan:
Day 1:Delhi
Day 2: Agra by car, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri on the way, (we only had time for the Taj Mahal, not Agra fort, but the Taj is worth a day in and of itself, just relaxing there)
Day 3:Jhansi by train, then 2 hour drive to Orchaah, where we saw amazing cenotaphs, people hanging out by the river, a beautiful palace, and the warmth of village hospitality
Day 4: overnight in Orchaah, and then drive to Khajuraho for about 3-4 hours.
Day 5: fly to Varanasi
Day 6: Varanasi (I didn't get to see much as I was quite sick the whole time, but my boyfriend spent the morning and almost the whole day at the ghats on the Ganges, which he loved)
Day 7: flight to Delhi
As you can see, we squeezed in a great deal in 1 week. I think you can add Rajasthan and still have time to see a great deal. Jaipur is easily accessible to and from Agra. We used a tour company that booked everything for us, making the planning very easy. Our guide in Orcha and Khajuraho was Umesh Dwivedi, They were booked through a company called Swadeshi Journeys, run by a Mr. Bhaskar Pandit. They organized everything beautifully and within our budget. Here is Bhaskar's e-mail: swadeshijourneys@vsnl.net

Hi Bhaskar,
First of all, thank you so much for the fabulous arrangement for our tour and your thoughtfulness all the way. Wendy, Isabel and I are very happy with the program, the hotel choices and your company's service.
1) Our driver has been an excellent company throughout our 10-day journey together. His experience in the industry and knowledge of the sites complemented our tour guides' explanations very well and his presence in the chaotic/congested areas where we passed by have made us feel safe. Though a man of few words, he is caring, gentle and has made our long journeys on the road enjoyable, fun and comfortable.
2) Our tour guide is very knowledgeable. We especially love her opinionated stance on various issues, such as religion and history, and have enjoyed our intellectual exchanges.
3) I will definitely recommend your company to anyone traveling to India. Will write on travel websites such as tripadvisor.com (where I found your referral) as soon as I get a chance. I have heard many less-than-satisfactory travel stories to India and I am just glad that I can serve as a counter-argument. India bears a huge significance for me since I am in the tea business, and a pleasant first encounter with the country has a long-term implication.
Thank you again for your excellent service! I wish you all the best and I certainly hope our paths will cross again very soon.
Yours sincerely, Andrea Chung, Singapore
